BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 25, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4996 (Rep. Schroeder) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from May 4, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Adam Hagedorn, of Rep. Bollin's office, to summarize HB 4996. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to report HB 4996 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom and VanderWall Nays: Sen. Wojno The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 4996. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
