BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 7, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Reform was scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 1004 (S-1) (Sen. VanderWall) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Testimony regarding SB 1065 (Sen. Lauwers). 3. Testimony regarding HB 5512 (Rep. Calley). 4. Testimony regarding SB 1064 (Sen. Nesbitt). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from May 24, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 1004. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 1004: Scott Graham, Michigan Brewers Guild – Support Mason Doerr, Michigan Licensed Beverage Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report the (S-1) version of SB 1004 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Page 1 of 3 Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1004. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 1065: Sen.
