BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1777 FAX: (517) 373-5871 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 8, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 802 (Sen. Hollier) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 5588 (Rep. Clements) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 5589 (Rep. Puri) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported SB 1058 (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Testimony regarding HB 5671 (Rep. Alexander) and HB 5704 (Rep. Glenn). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the meeting minutes from May 26, 2022 committee meeting. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report SB 802 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 802. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to report HB 5588 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 1 of 2 The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5588. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Brinks to report HB 5589 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5589. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
