BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 15, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4491 (Rep. Fink) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair invited Caleb Lambrecht, of Rep. Fink's office, to summarize HB 4491. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4491: Sheree Ritchie, Pure Integrity Michigan Elections – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4491: Erin Schor, Michigan Department of State – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to report HB 4491 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 4491. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
