BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-6920 FAX: (517) 373-2751 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 16, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety was scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4277 (Rep. Manoogian). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4278 (Rep. Mueller). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4279 (Rep. Bellino). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Victory, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Barrett, Johnson, Runestad, Wozniak, Chang and Irwin, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the meeting minutes from June 14, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB's 4277, 4278 and 4279, and invited Rep.(s) Manoogian and Mueller to summarize the bills. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB's 4277 - 4279: Steve Kiefer, The Kiefer Foundation – Support Blake Kiefer, The Kiefer Foundation - Support Laurel Zimmerman, Citizen – Oppose Matt Penniman, League of Michigan Bicyclists – Support Jane Horal, Go-Liv-Co Horal Family Foundation – Support James F.
