BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 16, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 864 (S-1) (Sen. Daley). 2. Testimony regarding SB 865 (Sen. Moss). 3. Testimony regarding SB 866 (Sen. Outman). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt the meeting minutes from May 10, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen.(s) Daley and Moss to summarize the bills. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 864. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Daley and Moss Nays: None Pass: Sen. Johnson The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB's 864 - 866: Stacy Hissong, Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners - Support The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding SB 864: Ben Tirrell, Michigan Farm Bureau – Support The Chair moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Alexander was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
