BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1777 FAX: (517) 373-5871 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 30, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 8:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 1018(S-1) (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 1019(S-1) (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported SB 814 (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the meeting minutes from June 23, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 1018 (S-1) and SB 1019 (S-1): Ashley Steffen, MDARD – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to report the (S-1) version of SB 1018 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1018 (S-1). Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report the (S-1) version of SB 1019 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Page 1 of 2 Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1019 (S-1). Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 814. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
