The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 1059 (S-1) (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 5671 (Rep. Alexander) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 5704 (Rep. Glenn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported SB 1167 (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 1059: Ashley Steffen, MDARD – Support The following individuals submitted testimony regarding SB 1059: Laura Sherman, EIBC President – No Position The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 1167: Chuck Heinlein, Denmark Twp. Supervisor – Support Anthony Bierlein, Farmer – Support At 8:20 a.m. the Chair recessed the committee. At 8:44 a.m. the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 1059. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report the (S-1) version of SB 1059 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1059. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The following individuals submitted testimony regarding HB 5671 and HB 5704: Citizens in Support of HB 5704 and 5671 Jaimie Cavanaugh, Institute for Justice – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to report HB 5671 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5671. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report HB 5704 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5704. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to report SB 1167 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1167. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
