The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 1133 (Sen. Schmidt) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 981 (Sen. Horn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported SB 982 (Sen. Schmidt) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported SB 983 (Sen. Huizenga) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported HB 4730 (S-2) (Rep. Calley) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from June 16, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McMorrow to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Geiss was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited Sen. Schmidt to summarize SB 1133. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 1133. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair invited Rep. Calley to summarize HB 4370 and (S-2) substitute. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4370 and (S-2) substitute: Luke Bell, Zillow – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4370 and (S-2) substitute: Madeline Fata, Michigan Association of Counties – Support Leah Robinson, Michigan Chamber of Commerce - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. MacDonald to adopt the (S-2) version of HB 4730. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow, and Moss. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to report the (S-2) version of HB 4730 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow, and Moss. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
