The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 6019 (Sen. VanderWall) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Presentation: The Success and Status of FirstNet in Michigan. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:31 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Barrett, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, Wozniak, McCann, Brinks, McMorrow and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to adopt the meeting minutes from September 7, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 6019: Jim Sherman, C.R.A.F.T. – Oppose Ed Rivet, Michigan Conservative Energy Forum – Support John Dulmes, Michigan Chemistry Council – Support Tim Minotas, Sierra Club of Michigan – Oppose Justin Tomei, Michigan United Conservation Clubs – Support Keith Gunter, Alliance to Halt Fermi 3 – Oppose Audrey Anderson, Self – Oppose James W. Perkinson, Professor of Social Ethics, Oakland University – Oppose John Erdevig, Self – Oppose John LaForge, Self – Oppose Jessie Pauline Collins, Citizens' Resistance at Fermi Two – Oppose Mike O'Brien, Indiana – Michigan Power Company - Support Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited the following individuals to give a presentation entitled: The Success and Status of FirstNet in Michigan: David Lewis, President, AT&T Michigan Thomas Shull, Director Legislative Affairs, First Responders Network Authority Brent Schroeder, Director, FirstNet Sales – AT&T Captain Steven Schneider, Chief Technology Officer, Oakland County Sheriff's Office The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Nesbitt was excused from the meeting.
