BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 29, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 12:00 noon, in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: Office of the Auditor General Follow-Up Report on Prior Audit Recommendations Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility and Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility - Medical, Dental, and Optical Services Michigan Department of Corrections November 2022, 471-0241-17F and 471-0301-19F The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak, Irwin and Chang, a quorum was present. The Chair invited committee members and guests to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from September 21, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Michael Ventura, OAG audit manager, and Melanie Marks, OAG audit supervisor for the follow-up presentation on prior audit recommendations on Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility Medical, Dental, and Optical services. Member questions and discussion followed the conclusion of the presentation. The Chair invited Kyle Kaminski with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) to comment on the OAG's report. Member questions and discussion followed the conclusion of the presentation. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
