BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 1, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections and Ethics was scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules for 2023-2024 legislative session. 2. Presentation by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. 3. Presentation by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Wojno, Santana, McMorrow, Chang, Camilleri, Johnson and McBroom, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Camilleri to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Wojno, Santana, McMorrow, Chang, Camilleri, Johnson, and McBroom. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for a presentation. Member questions followed. The Chair invited Attorney General Dana Nessel for a presentation. Member questions followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
