BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-5100 FAX: (517) 373-5115 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 9, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Environment was scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Presentation from the Michigan Public Service Commission. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Hertel, Camilleri, Polehanki, Lauwers, Bellino, Outman, Hauck, and Damoose, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McDonald Rivet to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Hertel, Camilleri, Polehanki, Lauwers, Bellino, Outman, Hauck, and Damoose Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. At 1:34 p.m., Sen. Bayer entered the meeting. The Chair made opening remarks. The Chair invited Dan Scripps, Chairman of the Michigan Public Service Commission, to give a presentation regarding an overview of energy and telecommunications regulation and oversight in Michigan. At 1:38 p.m., Sen. Chang entered the meeting. At 1:40 p.m., Sen. Shink entered the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
