BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 14, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by the Michigan Association of Registers of Deeds. 2. Presentation by the Michigan Association of County Clerks. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:33 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Wojno, Moss, Bayer, Shink, Hoitenga and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the meeting minutes from February 28, 2023. Without objection the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to give the committee a presentation: Brandon Denby, Livingston County Register of Deeds / Michigan Association of Register of Deeds Stewart Sanders, Newaygo County Register of Deeds / Michigan Association of Register of Deeds Barb Byrum, Ingham County Clerk / Michigan Association of County Clerks Vanessa Guerra, Saginaw County Clerk / Michigan Association of County Clerks There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
