BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7748 FAX: (517) 373-1387 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 15, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection was scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 158 (Sen. Singh), SB 159 (Sen. Singh) and SB 160 (Sen. Singh). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:33 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Moss, McCann, Bayer, Irwin, Huizenga, Theis and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the meeting minutes from March 8, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 158, SB 159 and SB 160: Sen. Sam Singh – Support Gabrielle Feighner, Feighner Boat Lifts – Support Peter Morman and Lance Wilkinson, Department of Treasury – Neutral The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 158, SB 159 and SB 160: Leah Robinson, Michigan Chamber of Commerce – Support Doug Needham, Michigan Aggregates Association – Support Brian Shoaf, Detroit Regional Chamber – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 158 and SB 159: Derek Bajema, Michigan Soft Drink Association – Support Amanda Fisher, NFIB – Support Amy Drumm, Michigan Retailers Association – Support John Lindsey, Michigan Manufacturing Housing, RV, and Campground Association – Support Karen Johnston, Toyota Motors North America – Support Brian Calley, Small Business Association of Michigan – Support Nate Henschel, Grand Rapids Chamber – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
