- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JERRY NEYER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 12, 2026 10:30 AM Room 308, House Office Building The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Neyer. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Neyer, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Absent: Rep. Wortz. Excused: Rep. Wortz. Representative Fox moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 05, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The chair laid a presentation from the Michigan Farm Bureau on March is Reading Month before the committee. Josh Scamlin, representing Michigan Farm Bureau and Nancy Nyquist, representing the Michigan Blueberry Alliance gave a presentation on March is Reading Month. Questions and discussion followed. The chair laid a presentation from the United Dairy Industry of Michigan before the committee. Joelene Griffin, representing the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, gave a presentation on Michigan dairy and the care of dairy cows. Questions and discussions followed. Ben Chapin, representing the Michigan Milk Producers Association, and Eric Crawford, representing Country Fresh, gave a presentation to the committee on Michigan Dairy production. Questions and discussions followed. Representative Kunse moved to excuse Representative Wortz from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
