BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-6960 FAX: (517) 373-0897 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 22, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Appropriations was scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. 1) Discussion and review of Strategic Outreach and Attraction Reserve (SOAR) projects The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Anthony, Sen.(s) McCann, McDonald Rivet, Cherry, Bayer, Santana, Shink, Irwin, Hertel, Camilleri, Klinefelt, McMorrow, Cavanagh, Bumstead, Albert, Damoose, Huizenga, Outman and Theis, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Cherry, to adopt the committee meeting minutes from the March 8, 2023 . Without objection, the meeting minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding some of the Strategic Outreach and Attraction Reserve (SOAR) projects: Dr. Deeana Ahmed, Vice President of Strategy, Policy, and Sustainability, Our Next Energy Chuck Thelen, Head of Gotion North America Randy Thelen, President & CEO of the Right Place Jim Chapman, Supervisor of Green Township Dr. Bill Pink, President of Ferris State University The following individuals tuned in cards: Joseph Cella, Citizen – Oppose Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin, supported by Sen. McDonald Rivet, to adjourn the committee at 2:56 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Adopted: 4-12-23 Page 2 of 2
