BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 20, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs was scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted Amendment #1 to SB 180 (Sen. Hauck) 2. Testimony regarding SB 179 (Sen. Irwin) and SB 180 (Sen. Hauck). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bellino to adopt the meeting minutes from March 16, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Senator Hauck and Annie Somerville with Senator Irwin's office to explain SB 179 and SB 180 and amendment #1 to SB 180. Member questions followed. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to adopt Amendment #1 to SB 10. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Bellino. Nays: Sen. Lauwers The motion prevailed and the amendment #1 to SB 180 was adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 179 and SB 180: Derek Sova, Cannabis Regulatory Agency – Support Whitney Gravelle, Bay Mills Indian Community – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 179 and 180: Kevin McKinney – Support Manny Lentine, Citizen – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
