HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTION INTEGRITY REP. RACHELLE SMIT CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Election Integrity was called to order by Chair Smit. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Smit, Fox, Outman, Alexander, Hoadley, Pavlov, Wooden, Koleszar and Xiong. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Fox moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 04, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HJR B before the committee: Representative Fox moved to report out HJR B with recommendation. The motion prevailed 6-3- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Smit, Fox, Outman, Alexander, Hoadley and Pavlov. Nays: Reps. Wooden, Koleszar and Xiong. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HJR B, but due to the time constraints were unable to speak: Melany Mack Katie Cavanaugh. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 9:00 AM Room 307, House Office Building HJR B (Rep. Posthumus) A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state constitution of 1963, by amending sections 1 and 4 of article II, to require the verification of an elector's United States citizenship and to modify voter identification requirements. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HJR B, but did not wish to speak: Shannon Abbott, representing Common Cause Michigan. Melanie Macey, representing Promote the Vote.
