BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 7, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Veterans and Emergency Services was scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4555 (Rep. Rogers) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Hertel, Santana and Outman, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hertel to adopt the meeting minutes from May 24, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4555 and invited Rep. Rogers to summarize the bill. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4555: Erika Hoover, Women Veterans & Special Populations Coordinator, MI Veterans Affairs Agency – Support Ina Golden, Veteran, U.S. Navy - Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4555: Terry J. Sabo, Deputy Director, MI Department of Military and Veterans Affairs - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to report HB 4555 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Hertel, Santana and Outman Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
