BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2523 FAX: (517) 373-5669 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 13, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Community Development was scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4375 (S-1) (Rep. Kristian Grant) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Cherry, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey and Webber, a quorum was present. The Chair invited Senator McDonald-Rivet to explain Amendment #1 to House Bill 4375. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before of the committee regarding HB 4375: Judy Allen, Michigan Township Assoc. - Support The Chair entertained a motion to adopt amendment #1 to House Bill 4375. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Cherry, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey, and Webber. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted . The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to report the HB 4375, as amended, as a clean substitute to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Cherry, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, and Webber. Nays: Sen.(s) Victory and Lindsey. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
