BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7315 FAX: (517) 373-3126 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 13, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy was scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 356 (Sen. Hertel) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 357 (Sen. Cavanagh) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 358 (Sen. Klinefelt) with recommendation. 4. Reported HB 4362 (Rep. Brabec) with recommendation. 5. Reported HB 4363 (Rep. Neeley) with recommendation. 6. Reported HB 4364 (Rep. Price) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cherry to adopt the meeting minutes from June 7, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Sen. Webber offered (S-1) versions of SB 356, SB 357, and SB 358. The Chair invited Sen. Webber to summarize the (S-1) versions of SB 356, SB 357, and SB 358. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Webber to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 356. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Sen.(s) Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, and Geiss The motion failed and the (S-1) was not adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cherry to report SB 356 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, and Geiss Nays: Sen.(s) Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Page 1 of 3 The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
