The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4495 (S-2) (Rep. Snyder) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4496 (Rep. Filler) with recommendation. 3. Testimony regarding SB 280 (Sen. Singh). 4. Testimony regarding SB 281 (Sen. Singh). 5. Testimony regarding SB 384 (Sen. Hertel). 6. Testimony regarding SB 287 (Sen. Daley). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:14 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to adopt the meeting minutes from June 13, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Santana was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited Rep.(s) Snyder and Filler to summarize HB 4495 and HB 4496. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4495 and HB 4496: Dominick Pallone, Michigan Association of Health Plans – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4495 and HB 4496: Frank Waters, Michigan Primary Care Association – Support Chardae Burton, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services – Support Amy Zaagman, Michigan Council for Maternal and Child Health – Support Page 1 of 3 Rachel Richards, Michigan League for Public Policy – Support Adam Carlson, Michigan Hospital Association – Support Todd Tennis, Center for Civil Justice – Support Lisa Ruby, Michigan Poverty Law Program – Support The Chair offered and summarized an (S-2) version of HB 4495. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to report the (S-2) version of HB 4495 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
