BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7748 FAX: (517) 373-1387 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 20, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection was scheduled for Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 176 (S-3) (Sen. Santana) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 330 (S-1) (Sen. Cavanagh) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 364 (S-1) (Sen. Damoose) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Moss, McCann, Bayer, Irwin, Huizenga, Theis and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Moss to adopt the meeting minutes from June 7, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 176, SB 330 and SB 364: Amanda Tomich, Michigan Assessors Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer to report the (S-3) version of SB 176 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Moss, McCann, Bayer, Irwin, Huizenga, Theis, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Huizenga to report the (S-1) version of SB 330 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Moss, McCann, Bayer, Irwin, Huizenga, Theis, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to report SB 364, as amended, as a clean substitute, to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Moss, McCann, Bayer, Irwin, Huizenga, Theis, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
