BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 12, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 337 (S-1) (Sen. Polehanki) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Wojno, Moss, Bayer, Shink, Hoitenga and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the meeting minutes from June 6, 2023. Without objection the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up SB 337, and invited Caitlin Stadler, of Sen. Polehanki’s office to summarize the (S-1) version of SB 337. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding SB 337: Amanda Tomich, Michigan Assessors Association - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Shink to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 337. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Wojno, Moss, Bayer, Shink, Hoitenga and Daley Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer to report SB 337 (S-1) to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Wojno, Moss, Bayer, Shink, Hoitenga and Daley Nays: None Page 1 of 2 The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
