The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 133 (Sen. McCann). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4619 (Rep. Rogers). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4620 (Rep. Edwards). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4621 (Rep. Fitzgerald). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4622 (Rep. Miller). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4623 (Rep. Koleszar). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:36 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, and Huizenga, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the meeting minutes from June 27, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Webber to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Runestad was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited Sen. McCann to summarize SB 133. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 133: Dr. Joyce de Jong, National Association of Medical Examiners – Support Abigail Grande, Michigan Association of Medical Examiners – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 133: Norm Hess, Michigan Association for Local Public Health – Support Samantha Gibson, Michigan Association of Counties – Support Judge Linda Davis, Families Against Narcotics – Support Page 1 of 2 Chardae Burton, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services – Support The Chair invited Rep.(s) Rogers and Koleszar to summarize HB 4619, HB 4620, HB 4621, and HB 4263.
