- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS REP. MIKE HOADLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 19, 2026 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Economic Competitiveness was called to order by Chair Hoadley. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, Harris, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine, Grant, Brixie and Tate. Absent: Rep. Coffia. Excused: Rep. Coffia. Representative DeBoyer moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 12, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5688 before the committee: HB 5688 (Rep. Hoadley) A bill to amend 1933 PA 167, entitled "General sales tax act," by amending section 2d (MCL 205.52d), as added by 2019 PA 143. Representative Outman moved to report out HB 5688 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 8-0-2: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, Harris, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine and Tate. Nays: None. Pass: Reps. Grant and Brixie. Representative Tate moved to excuse Representative Coffia from the meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Hoadley adjourned the meeting at 10:36 AM.
