BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0142 FAX: (517) 373-3938 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 12, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Labor was scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentations regarding the Unemployment Insurance Agency. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri, Cavanagh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cavanagh to adopt the meeting minutes from October 5, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the Unemployment Insurance Agency: Rachael Wineland and Todd Cook, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity – No Position Rachel Richards, Michigan League of Public Policy Dave Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association Amy Traub, National Employment Law Project Robert Joerg, Michigan Laborers District Council There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
