BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 18, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections and Ethics was scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 570 (Sen. McMorrow). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Wojno, Santana, McMorrow, Chang, Camilleri, Johnson and McBroom, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the meeting minutes from October 11, 2023 committee meeting. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. McMorrow to summarize SB 570. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 570: Erica Peresman, Promote the Vote – Support Larry Kestenbaum, Washtenaw Co. Clerk/Register of Deeds – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 570: Sheri Ritchie, Michigan Fair Election; Pure Integrity MI Election – Opposed Erin Schor, MDOS – Neutral There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
