BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7800 FAX: (517) 373-9310 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 24, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure was scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 3:30 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4515 (Rep. Hill) with recommendation. 2. Testimony regarding SB 501 (S-1) (Sen. Camilleri). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the meeting minutes from October 10, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Taylor Ridderbusch, of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, to answer additional questions regarding HB 4515. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4515: Taylor Ridderbusch, Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Support Thomas Dunn, Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan – Support Thomas Dunn, American Motorcyclist Association's District 14 – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Chang to report HB 4515 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Victory, and Bumstead Nays: Sen.(s) Bellino and McBroom The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Sen. Camilleri offered an (S-1) version of SB 501. The Chair invited Sen. Camilleri to summarize the (S-1) version of SB 501. Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Camilleri to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 501. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Camilleri to summarize SB 501.
