BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7346 FAX: (517) 373-9320 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 31, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Civil Rights, Judiciary, and Public Safety was scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4823 (Rep. Wozniak) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4920 (Rep. Fitzgerald) with recommendation. 3. Reported HB 4476 (S-3) (Rep. Arbit) with recommendation. 4. Reported HB 4477 (Rep. Puri) with recommendation. 5. Testimony regarding HB 4320 (Rep. MacDonell). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4387 (Rep. MacDonell). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Chang, Sen.(s) Shink, Wojno, Irwin, Santana, Runestad and Johnson, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the meeting minutes from the October 19, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4823 (Rep. Wozniak) and HB 4920 (Rep. Fitzgerald), and invited Scott Ray, from Rep. Wozniak’s office and Chris Herweyer, from Rep. Fitzgerald’s office to summarize the bills.
