The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 44 (S-2) (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 45 (Sen. Santana) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 482 (Sen. McDonald Rivet) with recommendation. 4. Testimony regarding SB 633 (Sen. Hertel). 5. Testimony regarding SB 634 (Sen. Santana). 6. Testimony regarding SB 635 (Sen. Geiss). 7. Testimony regarding SB 636 (Sen. Hertel). 8. Testimony regarding SB 637 (Sen. Camilleri). 9. Testimony regarding SB 638 (Sen. Klinefelt). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the meeting minutes from October 18, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 44 and SB 45: Marcia Hune, Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists – Support Shakti Rambarran, Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to report the (S-2) version of SB 44 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: None Page 1 of 2 The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to report SB 45 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to report SB 482 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair summarized SB 633 through SB 638. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 633 through SB 638: Joseph Sullivan, Department of Insurance and Financial Services – No Position Heather Korbulic, Get Insured – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 633: Megan Blue, Corewell Health and Priority Health – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
