The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 501 (S-1) (Sen. Camilleri) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 465 (S-1) (Sen. Singh) with recommendation. 3. Reported HB 4897 (Rep. Shannon) with recommendation. 4. Reported HB 4126 (Rep. Snyder) with recommendation. 5. Testimony regarding HB 4132 (Rep. Snyder). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4133 (Rep. Mueller). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:34 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the meeting minutes from October 24, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The following cards were turned in of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 501: Derek Basema, Pepsi Co – Support William Miller, Operating Engineers 324 – Support Jane McCurry, Clean Fuels MI – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Camilleri to report the (S-1) version of SB 501 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead Nays: None Page 1 of 3 The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair offered, and summarized, an (S-1) version of SB 465. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 465. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 465: William Miller, Operating Engineers 324 – Support The following cards were turned in of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 465: John LaMacchia, Michigan Municipal League – Support Ed Noyola, County Road Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hertel to report the (S-1) version of SB 465 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
