BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 24, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs was scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4824 (Rep. McKinney), HB 4825 (Rep. Hill) and HB 4826 (Rep. MacDonell). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the meeting minutes from October 26, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited State Representative McKinney and Matt Dargay from Representative MacDonell's office to summarize House Bills 4824, 4825 and 4826. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4824, HB 4825 and HB 4826: Sydney Hart and James Clift, EGLE – Support Nick Occhipinti, MI League of Conservation Voters – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4824, HB 4825 and HB 4826: Megan Tinsley, Michigan Environmental Council – Support HB 4826 Liz Kirkwood (FLOW) For the Love of Water – Support Mike Alaimo, MI Chamber of Commerce, MCC – Opposed HB 4826 Caroline Leithen, MI Manufacturer's Association – Opposed HB 4826 Tim Minotas, MI Sierra Club – Support Tim Langholz, NFIB – Opposed David Lossing, Huron River Watershed Council – Support HB 4824 and HB 4826 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
