BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-5100 FAX: (517) 373-5115 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 25, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Environment was scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4325 (Rep. Scott). 2. Testimony regarding SB 366 (Sen. McCann). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:37 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Bayer, Shink, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, Polehanki, Damoose, Outman, Hauck, and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McDonald Rivet to adopt the meeting minutes from November 7, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Lauwers was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited Rep. Scott to summarize HB 4325. Due to technical difficulties, the following individuals were unable to testify before the committee regarding HB 4325: Maria Dickerson, Greenacres/Woodward Civic Association – Support Marilyn Winfrey, Northwest Community Block Club Association – Support Janet Spight-White, Resident of Highland Park – Support At 1:52 p.m., the Chair called for the committee to go at ease. At 1:54 p.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair invited Dan Scripps, Chairman of the Michigan Public Service Commission, to give a presentation regarding SB 366. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 366: Dave Chislea, Michigan Public Service Commission – Support The following cards were turned in of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 366: Liz Kirkwood, For the Love of Water – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
