The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4325 (Rep. Scott) with recommendation. 2. Testimony regarding SB 225 (Sen. Chang). 3. Testimony regarding SB 226 (Sen. Geiss). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4185 (Rep. Mentzer). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4186 (Rep. McKinney). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4188 (Rep. Aiyash). 7. Testimony regarding HB 4190 (Rep. VanderWall). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:33 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Bayer, Shink, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, Polehanki, Lauwers, Damoose, Outman, and Hauck, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McDonald Rivet to adopt the meeting minutes from January 25, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Bellino was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4325: Janet Spight White, Resident of Highland Park – Support Linda Wheeler, Resident of Highland Park – Support Reverend Cynthia Lowe, Citizen – Support Betty A. At 1:44 p.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McDonald Rivet to report HB 4325 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Bayer, Shink, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, Polehanki, Lauwers, Damoose, Outman, and Hauck Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair invited Sen. Chang and Rep. VanderWall to summarize SB 225, SB 226, HB 4186, HB 4188, and HB 4190. The Chair invited Ben Poulson, of Rep. Mentzer's office, to summarize HB 4185.
