BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 5, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4360 (Rep. Brabac). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Klinefelt, Sen.(s) Wojno, Bayer, Shink, Hoitenga and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer to adopt the meeting minutes from February 20, 2024. Without objection the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4360 and invited Rep. Brabec to summarize the bill. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4360: Brian Marl, Mayor, City of Saline - Support Jason Sperle, Fie Chief, City of Saline – Support Lowell Winne, Manlius Township Supervisor – Support Kathryn Beemer, City of Fennville - Support Herasanna Richards, Michigan Municipal League – Support Tony Minghine, Michigan Municipal League - Support The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4360: Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association - Support The Chair entertained a motion from Sen. Wojno to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Moss was excused from the meeting.
