The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 716 (Sen. Klinefelt) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 706 (S-1) (Sen. Klinefelt) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 799 (Sen. Klinefelt) with recommendation. 4. Reported HB 4183 (Rep. Roth) with recommendation. 5. Reported HB 4132 (S-1) (Rep. Snyder) with recommendation. 6. Reported HB 4133 (Rep. Mueller) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bellino to adopt the meeting minutes from March 12, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to report SB 716 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Sen. Klinefelt offered an (S-1) version of SB 706. The Chair invited Sen. Klinefelt to summarize the (S-1) version of SB 706. The following cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 706: Page 1 of 3 Melissa Horste, Michigan Department of State – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 706.
