BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2523 FAX: (517) 373-5669 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 2, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Community Development was scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 12:00 noon, in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 536 (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 537 (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey and Webber, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cavanagh to adopt the meeting minutes from February 29, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair Invited Hilary Doe, Chief Growth Officer, for a presentation on the MEDC's EOG Commission report titled "Let's Grow Michigan." Member questions followed. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cavanagh to report SB 536 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey, and Webber. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to report SB 537 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, McDonald Rivet, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey, and Webber. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
