The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4308 (Rep. O'Neal) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4723 (S-2) (Rep. Morgan) with recommendation. 3. Reported HB 5056 (S-1) (Rep. Miller) with recommendation. 4. Reported HB 5058 (S-1) (Rep. Bierlein) with recommendation. 5. Reported HB 4928 (S-3) (Rep. Shannon) with recommendation. 6. Reported HB 4929 (Rep. Carter) with recommendation. 7. Reported HB 4930 (S-1) (Rep. Carter) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the meeting minutes from April 9, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. O'Neal to summarize HB 4308. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4308: Dr. Wanda Whitten-Shurney, Michigan Chapter of the Sickle Cell Disease Association – Support Rep. Ronnie Peterson, Citizen – Support The following cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4308: Melissa Horste, Michigan Department of State – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to report HB 4308 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
