BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-5100 FAX: (517) 373-5115 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 5, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Environment was scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 353 (Sen. Klinefelt). 2. Testimony regarding SB 879 (Sen. Singh). 3. Testimony regarding SB 880 (Sen. Singh). 4. Testimony regarding SB 881 (Sen. Outman). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Singh, Bayer, Shink, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang, Polehanki, Lauwers, Damoose, Outman, Hauck, and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Singh to adopt the meeting minutes from March 14, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Reka Holley Voelker, Communications Sections Manager and Legislative Tribal Liaison for the Michigan Public Service Commission, to provide an overview of the Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP). The Chair invited Sen.(s) Singh, Klinefelt, and Outman to summarize SB 353, and SB 879 to SB 881.
