BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 11, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs was scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 730 (S-2) (Sen. Polehanki) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 731 (S-2) (Sen. Hauck) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 732 (S-2) (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. 4. Testimony regarding SB 906 (Sen. Moss), SB 907 (Sen. Moss) and SB 908 (Sen. McMorrow). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the meeting minutes from June 5, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 730, (S- 2), SB 731, (S-2), SB 732 and (S-2): Shelly Stahl, Anheuser Busch – Support David Marvin, Liquor Control Commission – Neutral Mason Doerr MLBA – Neutral Jerry Griffin, Midwest Independent Retailers Assoc. – Opposition The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 730. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to report the (S-2) version of SB 730 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 731. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to report the (S-2) version of SB 731 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 732. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to report the (S-2) version of SB 732 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Chair Moss explained Senate Bills 906, 907, 908. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 906, SB 907 and SB 908: Rob Mass, MiLEAP – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 906, SB 907 and SB 908: Brian O'Connell CLark Hill Lockout Company – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
