BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7800 FAX: (517) 373-9310 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 8, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure was scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 5747 (Rep. Hill). 2. Testimony regarding HB 5379 (Rep. Hill). 3. Testimony regarding SB 893 (Sen. Geiss). 4. Testimony regarding SB 985 (Sen. Klinefelt). 5. Testimony regarding HB 5922 (Rep. Greene). 6. Testimony regarding SB 1011 (Sen. Klinefelt). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Geiss, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Wojno, Hertel, Chang, McCann, Bellino, McBroom, Victory, and Bumstead, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt to adopt the meeting minutes from June 4, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. Hill to summarize HB 5747 and HB 5379. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5747 and HB 5379: Henry Schienebeck, Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association – Support The following cards were read in of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5747 and HB 5379: Peter Morman, Michigan Department of Treasury – Support Justin Knepper, Michigan Association of Timbermen – Support The Chair summarized SB 893. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 893: Mark Schrupp, Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority – Support Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited Sen.
