BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7748 FAX: (517) 373-1387 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 9, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection was scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 954 (Sen. Moss), SB 955 (Sen. Moss) and SB 956 (Sen. Cavanagh). 2. Testimony regarding SB 888, SB 889, SB 890, SB 891 and SB 892 (Sen. Bayer). 3. Testimony regarding SB 1021 and SB 1022 (Sen. Singh). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Camilleri, Huizenga and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the meeting minutes from June 20, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Theis was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 1021 and SB 1022: Sen.
