Gast Senate Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 5328 (Rep. Wilson) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 4361 (Rep. Brabec) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported SB 440 (Sen. Shink) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported SB 1000 – SB 1002 (Sen. Bayer) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported HB 5522 (Rep. Glanville) with recommendation and immediate effect. 6. Discussion regarding work projects The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Anthony, Sen.(s) McCann, McDonald Rivet, Cherry, Bayer, Santana, Shink, Irwin, Hertel, Camilleri, Klinefelt, McMorrow, Cavanagh, Bumstead, Albert, Damoose, Huizenga, Outman, and Theis, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Santana, to adopt the meeting minutes from September 25, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. Wilson to summarize HB 5328 for the committee. The following individuals turned in cards regarding HB 5328: Monica Martinez, Michigan Judges Association – Support Trevor Van Dyke, State Court Administrative Office – Support Pete Langley, Michigan Probate Judges Association – Support Judge Mike Carpenter, President, Michigan District Judges Association – Support Page 1 of 5 The Chair entertained a motion from Sen. Shink, supported by Sen. Bayer, to report HB 5328 to the floor with recommendation that it pass the vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Anthony, Sen.(s) McCann, McDonald Rivet, Cherry, Bayer, Santana, Shink, Irwin, Hertel, Cavanagh, Klinefelt, McMorrow, Camilleri, Bumstead, Huizenga, Outman and Theis Nays: Sen. Albert The motion passed, and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McDonald, supported by Sen. Cherry, to recommend immediate effect for HB 5328. Without objection, immediate effect was recommend. Next, the Chair invited Rep. Brabec, Patrick Wells-O'Brien of the Gift of Life Michigan, and John Hoffman of the American Kidney Foundation, to summarize HB 4361 and the (S-1) version for the committee. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin, supported by Sen.
