BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 23, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs was scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 1:15 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 982 (S-1) (Sen. Singh) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 983 (Sen. Lauwers) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 984 (Sen. Singh) with recommendation. 4. Reported SB 1050 (Sen. Anthony) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:21 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the meeting minutes from October 16, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Senator Singh to testify on S-1 to SB 982 and SB 1050. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 982, SB 983, SB 984 and SB 1050: Paige Fults, LARA – Neutral Gavin Goetz, AT&T – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 982. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McCann to report the (S-1) version of SB 982 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Page 1 of 2 Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report SB 983 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to report SB 984 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to report SB 1050 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, and Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
