BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7748 FAX: (517) 373-1387 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES December 4, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection was scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 954 (S-1) (Sen. Moss) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 955 (S-1) (Sen. Moss) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 956 (S-1) (Sen. Cavanagh) with recommendation. 4. Testimony regarding SB 666 and SB 667 (Sen. McCann). 5. Testimony regarding SB 659 (Sen. Bayer). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Camilleri, Huizenga and Daley, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the meeting minutes from November 13, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 954, SB 955 and SB 956: Sen. Jeremy Moss – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Camilleri to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 954. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Camilleri, Huizenga, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 955. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Camilleri, Huizenga, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted.
