BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7315 FAX: (517) 373-3126 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy was scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Reported SB 60 (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Wojno to summarize SB 60. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 60: Dr. Mohammad Salameh, Trinity Health Medical Group – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 60: Bret Marr, Michigan College of Emergency Physicians – Support Adam Carlson, Michigan Hospital Association – Support Kris Kraft, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Support Danielle Devine, Corewell Health – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to report SB 60 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Page 2 of 2 Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
