BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7888 FAX: (517) 373-2983 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2025 The meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs was scheduled for Wednesday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m., in Room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted 2025-2026 Regulatory Affairs Committee Rules 2. Adopted (S-1) to SB 15 (Sen. Singh) 3. Testimony regarding SB 15 (S-1) (Sen. Singh) The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Singh, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers and Bellino, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to adopt the 2025-2026 Senate Committee on Regulatory Affairs Rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Singh, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the 2025-2026 Committee Rules were adopted. The Chair welcomed Senator Singh to the Regulatory Affairs committee and invited him to summarize SB 15 and (S-1) substitute. Member questions followed. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 15. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Singh, Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, Bellino. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) substitute was adopted. Hauck made a motion to bring up HB 4001 and HB 4002 for a vote. Majority Vice- Chair Sen. Polehanki objected. The Chair made a motion to sustain Sen. Polehanki's objection. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Moss, Sen.(s) Polehanki, McCann, Wojno, Santana, Hertel, Singh. Nays: Sen.(s) Hauck, Webber, Lauwers, Bellino. The motion prevailed and the objection was sustained.
