BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7748 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 26, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection was scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in the Room 1200 of the Binsfeld Office Building The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted 2025-2026 Committee Rules. 2. Presentation by the Michigan Department of Treasury. 3. Presentation by the Citizen's Research Council. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:31 p.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Huizenga, Theis and Daley The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Senator Camilleri was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the 2025-2026 Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance, and Consumer Protection Committee Rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cavanagh, Sen.(s) Irwin, McCann, Bayer, Huizenga, Theis, and Daley. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the 2025-2026 Committee Rules were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Michigan Tax Policy: Jeff Guilfoyle, Michigan Department of Treasury Bob Schneider and Eric Lupher, Citizen's Research Council There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion to adjourn the committee at 1:31 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
